Synopsis:

The voice as an expression of speech is the main instrument of communication among people. However, in some cases, it is a product of illusion, a notion that does not correspond to a real stimulus. The work "My friends'' negotiates the voice as an aural illusion, as an inner voice of conscience that divides, wavering on the inside between Id and Ego, posing questions like what is real and what is not real as well as what defines us and what we define. The video consists of audio and visual material that was chosen from the internet bringing together two different things in one. The visual consists of vocal cord recording with a micro camera while the sound consists of sound voice emulation, based on descriptions of the mentally ill.
